upcycled wax crayon heart valentines

if your house is anything like ours.. your craft cupboard will be filled with broken crayons and mismatched sets collected from cafes and party bags.

if this annoys you as much as it does me - i give you a simple craft to repurpose then into sweet valentines

inspired by the wonderfully creative @woodlark

YOU WILL NEED

old wax crayons… any kind will do

silicone mould… whichever shape you fancy (we went for a heart shaped silicone tray)

scraps of cardboard (or pre-cut kraft gift tags)

glue dots

letter stamps (or waterproof pens)

WHAT TO DO

remove the paper wrap from all the old crayons

break them into smaller chunks if you have any longer ones (to fit into the mould)

fill your moulds so they overflow a little (they will shrink down when they melt)

pop them into the oven on a low temp for around half an hour at about 90 degrees celcius

bring them out and let them cool and solidify before removing them from the mould

we then used glue dots to attach them to lil scraps of card with messages stamped on for her friends

hand them out with much love
